This novel epitomizes Kurt Vonnegut's witty and ironical writing style. It is a complete package, incorporating sci-fi, politics, anti-war messages, and humor. This was the first Vonnegut book that I read, and he's now my favorite author. If you like irony, science fiction, and anti-war books, then you'll love this novel. The one and only qualm that I have is that Slaughter House Five may be a little confusing for younger readers because the plot jumps around from time to time.
