Drinking It All In
The New York Post drinks up Dublin's literary pub crawl scene.
From the article...
April is an excellent time to visit Dublin if you’ve got a soft spot in your heart for the arts. Last year, Dublin was named a UNESCO City of Literature; one of four cities worldwide to have received this distinction.
“As [Irish novelist] Maeve Binchy said, ‘Novels are just stories written down,’ and as you know, the Irish, and particularly Dubliners, love to talk and tell stories,” says Jane Alger, director of UNESCO city of literature for Dublin.
Indeed, go into the gardens of the Merrion Hotel (one of the plushest hotels in Dublin) and you will find a statue not of a great nobleman or political hero, but of Joyce out in the garden.
