Poets Honor the Dead at Potter's Field
Several families may find solace on Mother's Day, notes the New York Daily News, in a belated memorial service for loved ones buried in Potter's Field on an island off the coast of the Bronx. A group of poets will gather at the Flushing Meeting House to read the names of hundreds of people who have been laid to rest over the last two decades on Hart Island, the city's largest taxpayer-funded cemetery.
