Recently, they discussed the short story Renaissance and chatted with two short story experts, Maile Meloy (Both Ways is the Only Way I Want It) and Doug Dorst (Surf Guru). How do they approach a short story collection versus a novel? What can a writer accomplish in a short story that they can't with a longer work?
