In the comics, the man behind the Black Panther mask is T'Challa, the King of Wakanda, a fictional African nation that serves as one of the most technologically advanced countries in the entire Marvel universe. In addition to starring in several of his own solo adventures, Black Panther has made numerous appearances as a member of the Avengers — so if the rumors of an impending "Black Panther" movie are true, then the inclusion of T'Challa in the next adventure of Earth's mightiest heroes is pretty much a foregone conclusion.
