Today is Take Your Child to a Bookstore Day
North Jersey.com takes note of a new literary event.
From the piece...
Not long ago, Montclair native Jenny Milchman had one of those wouldn’t-it-be-nice ideas: What if there was a day called Take Your Child to a Bookstore Day?
Instead of letting it go the way of most daydreams, Milchman got busy turning it into a reality. She chose a day: the first Saturday in December. She enlisted her husband’s help in making a poster, which she posted on her website. She wrote about on her blog at www.suspenseyourdisbelief.com. She told everyone she knew.
The idea took off. Bookstores in more than 20 states and provinces, from Mississippi to Saskatchewan, Seattle to Georgia, will be observing the day, Dec. 4, with celebrations and activities.
